An Altarbury Assassination Assessment
advertisement
With a legendary lance (and a perfect replica) that can break through the King’s magic on board, you set off for Altarberry to turn in your relic on 9/7. It takes a couple days to get there, so you have some chances to chill out aboard the runner.
The new things include a book that raises tolerance and a shrine that you can pray at to raise any member of your party’s max MP. On the first night, you can conduct wisdom growth with nearly everyone, while the next day has a courage chance or an imagination chance with Eupha. The imagination day is recommended, as completing it correctly will give you a massive amount of virtue points.
You arrive on the evening of 9/9. Once you’re in the city, head directly north to get to the next section. Next, head northwest. The Skyward Tavern is on the lower part of the third screen. You’ll have enough time to take a gander at the shops later if you want - it's an Idlesday tomorrow. Once your discussions end, head to bed. You have to head to the Montario Opera House tomorrow and put the finishing touches on your assassination plot.
Prep For Infiltrating the Opera House
- Recommended Level: 43-50+
- Recommended Archetypes: Magic Seeker/Soul Hacker, Summoner, Any Archetype focusing on offense
- Recommended Elements: Wind for new dog enemy and some soldiers, Ice for some soldiers
- Recommended Attack Types: Pierce and Strike for magic soldiers
- Tips: Be sure to pump up the defenses of Eupha, as you have to defend her for the entirety of the dungeon. Use healing magic or items when you can on her. More than anything, though, be sure to equip everyone else with what you want them to have for fighting Louis - you won’t really have much of a chance to fix them up between the beginning of the infiltration and the fight with Louis. Get your heaviest hitters for the boss battle with Louis.
You only have the one day you can do any kind of prep, but luckily it’s an Idlesday, so everything in Montario is on sale. Explore the town a bit if you need to so you can fast travel all over on a dime. There’s plenty of things to stock up on and make sure you have.
Namely, you’ll want to create as many experiments as you can for the Summoner so she has offensive options going forward. If you wish to, you can also make Eupha a Seeker, since she’ll need to master the Magic Seeker and Soul Hacker classes going forward. This can offer her more offensive options if you don’t have (or want) to use her Summoner resources quite yet.
There isn’t too much of a dungeon crawl here. It is preceded by an item swap puzzle, however, where you’ll need to help several people find lost items and sometimes other people have them. You’ll need to do this to get a key to backstage, then do a sort of platforming crawl and avoid enemies. All enemies in the dungeon will target Eupha exclusively, which is why you’ll want to have healing for her around.
Finally, the battle with Louis is mostly an all-out affair. He has no weaknesses and will attack with slash damage. Luckily, he starts the battle at half health, which is why it is an all-out affair to begin with.

Montario Opera House, Pt. 1: Item Exchange
Once you’ve gotten your gear and loaded everyone up with their boss battle digs, you can try and enter the front of the opera house. You’ll be minded to not go in the front door, but to look for a side door, which is just to the left. When you’re absolutely ready, go through this door.
Once inside, head the waypoint at the end of the hall and hear about a lost key. Once this dialogue is activated, you’ll see three (3) look sparks show up on the map. None of them are the lost key, but you’ll want to pick up all three items. Below is what each item chain leans to:
- Gold tooth is exchanged for the lost Rear Entrance Key by the gentlemen to the northwest of the entrance
- The lost string is swapped with a woman near the entrance. This get you a cake, which a woman in the northwesternmost corner exchanges for a love letter. Give that to the man in the middle hall for a Herald’s Banner
- The necklace is given to a troubled actor in her room; interact with the door near the actor complaining about his lost script. She’ll swap it for a copy of the script, which you can give to the actor outside the door. This gets you a Hero’s Leaf of Light.

Montario Opera House, Pt. 2: Backstage Pass
Once you have access backstage, follow the path and leap down. There’ll be some guard dogs down here, most of them you can rip through without battle, but the new watchdog enemy is weak to fire. Remember to protect Eupha in all battles as best you can. Up next is some guards that you can’t really avoid, but the chest behind them contains an emerald
Going up the next stairs, the path splits into facing either dogs or soldiers. Pick your poison (the dogs feel slightly easier). They both converge to the same path, which contains a ton of ladders. On the ground, the chest down here is a Pocket Heater that prevents frostbite (and may be useful for a certain upcoming boss battle).
The ladder on the far left leads to a chest with a diamond. The ladder on the right right has more soldiers and a chest containing the Opera Cape. If you want out, the ladder second from the left is the correct one. This leads to more dogs and then more soldiers. Remember that the spear soldiers are weak to ice and fire , while the magic soldiers are weak to strike and pierce. From here, it’s pretty much a straight shot to the roof.
Fighting Louis (1st Battle)
The plot to assassinate Louis actually goes pretty smoothly until you can’t get Drakolis back. With everyone fleeing, you get everyone back on squad, but the mad man of freedom somehow survived taking a whole lance to the chest. You get to reconstruct your party because this fight is unavoidable.
Louis is level 55 and starts at half health because, again, he got a whole lance to his chest. He attacks with slash damage, whether it is strictly Sword Attack or Royal Slash. The latter is multiple slashes to one enemy, so having someone not weak to slash. Louis does not have any weaknesses, which is why you should use an all-attack strat. Tend to your defenses if you need to, but go all out on the usurper.
Defeating Louis is basically a guaranteed level up for everyone.

There’s a ton of plot that happens in the next two days that ends with Basilio becoming your final party member! Also, that fight with Louis was entirely too straightforward and easy. And you’re about to find out why.
Fighting Sogne, The Icebound and Tap to Reveal
After the revelation that death didn’t quite take to Louis and the Church has named a new successor in Tap to Reveal, the saint reveals their true color and intentions. They're not doing what she wants out of cruelty, but out of love, and they needs to know if you have the power to do what they can’t. They tell you that you can find them at the Royal Academy Ruins.
Also, it can’t be a coincidence that Tap to Reveal silhouette from the reveal forward resembles that of a certain demiurge from Persona 5. In any case, you to fix up your party however you need to to face Tap to Revealon the ride over there. Make sure you’ve got a squad that has a healer, debuffs, and people good with physical damage. Fire damage wouldn’t be bad either.
Tap to Revealsummons an ice dragon, Sogne. It is level 52 and weak to fire…until after your first turn.
Once Tap to Revealand the beast get a turn, she will erect a Quartz Wall, which provides the dragon protection against all elemental attacks. Unless you have a spell or item that can break down magic barriers, you’ll have to stick to physical hits. In addition, an ice dragon predictably has ice moves that can give you frostbite. Icy Breath not only can do this, but it can hit the entire party at once. You will definitely want ways to heal or avoid this.
In addition to these things, Tap to Revealwill support with Trakuja and Dekuja, raising the dragon’s attack and lowering your defense respectively. Sogne will also use Roar, which lowers the entire party’s stats. Also, watch out if anyone in your party is weak to light magic because Tap to Revealwill use Mahamon.

Once you get the dragon to 0 HP, Tap to Revealdedicates the last of her magla in her entire being and fully heals Sogna. Now it’s time for phase two.
The magic veil comes down at least, so you can hit Sogna with magic attacks again. It will raise its attack dramatically with Draconic Wrath right out the gate. Using something like Eupha’s Summon Eagle Lion isn’t a terrible option here because similar to the Dragon Temple fight, keeping a dragon’s attack down is a wonderful strat.
If you didn’t get hit with the joys of frostbite in the first round, you’ll be getting more exposure to it in spades in this leg. Having any kind of healing for ailments and debuffs will work wonders here. Eupha again can come in handy with the Summon Dragon God synthesis skill, which also removes any buffs the opponent has going on. Keep your defenses up and Sogna’s attack down and constantly heal to survive this cold front.
The ending of this entire portion of plot pivot closes on grief, as well as one more night time Akademia visit. You only have a couple of days to prepare for the final battle with Louis.
